  • It should be "whom", for whom you want. People are certainly permitted to vote for whomever they wish, but that does not mean that when they express their choices in a public forum they are immune from the scorn and derision which they in fact deserve.

  • Belindak- I have numerous dictionaries for several languages, including English, Latin, Ancient Greek, French, and Italian. My favorite is either the Oxford Latin Dictionary or the big Lidell and Scot. Now show me where your universally authoritative orthographic and phonetic standard is.

  • It is ridiculous to presume that there is a singular form of English, official or otherwise. There is absolutely NO defensible standard anywhere that stipulates "ask" cannot be spelled or pronounced as "ax".
